Residents north of St. Andrews are "privileged" to have three men picking up some trash in a pick-up but they are selective! They do not take leaves, just garbage. These happenings have been reported to our Police Dept; Lt. Haddaway asked that whenever they are spotted to immediately call the sub-station (281-359-6761) and a Patrolman would be sent to the area. The license number, make and color of the vehicle would be helpful. Take time to tear, shred or cut-up all receipts that may have personal informa-tion and account numbers.
Attention: Forest Cove Residents. November 19, 1998 Cityof Houston will
be at our monthly meeting at 7:30 PM to discuss the sidewalk program they
offer for the community. Would like to hear from the community. We need
your input as a community if you are interested in the sidewalk program
for these streets: Hamblen Road, Chestnut Ridge, Forest Cove Drive. Please
send a letter to Forest Cove Property Owner's, P.O. Box 605, Humble, Texas
77347.
The Forest Cove Property Owner's Board would like to hear from the residents
as to what kind of improvements they would like the Forest Cove Board Members
to look into. Just to mention a few: a new boat ramp that will be on the
river instead of the marina, more parking for the Community Center or playground
equipment.
Come to the meeting November 19th or send your suggestions to Forest Cove Property Owners Assn., P.O. Box 605, Humble, Texas 77347. We want to hear your suggestions about our community and what improvements you feel are necessary.
Important issue: Concerning the Lodge Apartments on Kingwood Drive. The
Hanover Company will be at our November 19th, meeting. Please come, hopefully
they can answer some questions the Residents have regarding drainage, streets
etc.

The marina was under 5 feet of water and mud from the October 17th flood and is slowly recovering. There were four inches of mud left on the parking lot. It will be a few more weeks until we are under full operation again. Please be careful when visiting the marina and try to park on dry, not muddy, land.
The cormorants are returning to the Cove and soon, the pelicans & roseate spoonbills. The herons and egrets are increasing in numbers for their annual winter stay. best viewed at dusk and early morning, they are finding plenty of fish to feed on.

There has been some discussion that the City of Houston is considering the extension of Woodland Hills Drive to Hamblen Road. It is the feeling of the board that the extension would not be in the best interests of Forest Cove. The increased traffic and speeds would endanger the resi-dents and hinder the traffic flow entering Hamblen Road from side streets. If you are opposed to this potential ex-tension, please write to Councilman Robb Todd and send a copy to the FCPOA Board of Directors.
The July 4th BBQ is a long-standing tradition that is important to our community In previous years, this was handled by the F.C. Volunteer Fire Department as a fund raiser, and a very good one at that. It can also be a very good fund-raiser for our Community Association, but in order to do that we must prepare it ourselves and not have it catered. We are looking for anyone interested in helping prepare "The BBQ for 1999". If you can help in anyway, plan, provide freezer space, cook, prepare, set-up, serve, clean-up or help in another capacity, please contact Steve Atchison at home, (281-358-7648) work (281-590-9400) or e-mail at jsa1954@netscape.net. We will try to have an organizational meeting early in "99", but need to hear from you ASAP.
