Fourth of July Activities

We have had another successful Fourth of July picnic and parade. Thanks to all of those who made it possiNe. Howevei; despite everyone's best efforts, please understand that this is not a money making endeavor. In fact this year it was a $2000 loss to the association. Never the less, the Board feels it is a worthwhile and important tradition of the community and should be continued. Please give us any feedback you have.

V/P Mark Hovenkamp

Fightin' Frogs

The Forest Cove Pool was home to 120 Fightin' Frogs for the 1998 swim season. We had 30 new families and 50 returning families. A new program (Tadpoles) was developed for those swimmers that weren't quite ready to be Frogs. There were 9 participants in this program. The Frogs ranked third in Division 5 for the year. Awards night was a night to be remembered. Several different swimmer and parent awards were awarded after ice cream was served. Four swimmers have been Fightin' Frogs for 13 years. The night ended with a video of the season. The 1999 board was elected: Susan Ecoff Kari Floyd, Kurt Hilarides, Rick and Nancy Lynch, Lynette Mockbee, Deb Prestifilippo, and Paula Safarik. The Frogs had a float in the 4th of July parade. It won the trophy in the neighborhood category. The parade and divisional trophy are on display in the pool clubhouse.

The 1998 swim team board would like to thank each and every parent that volunteered their time and our coaches (Michelle Wuyts and Michele Freidrich) for a great season. Our team is a team that this community can be proud of

Susan Ecoff presented a plaque with the team's picture to the FCPOA in appreciation for their support during the 1998 season. Susan also gave the Association 2 videotapes to watch and pass around. The Board wishes to thank Susan and the team for presenting them.
