We have had another successful Fourth of July picnic and parade. Thanks to all of those who made it possiNe. Howevei; despite everyone's best efforts, please understand that this is not a money making endeavor. In fact this year it was a $2000 loss to the association. Never the less, the Board feels it is a worthwhile and important tradition of the community and should be continued. Please give us any feedback you have.

Fido is out on his own again and into residents flowerbeds for his or her personal necessities, this also includes cats. Not everyone own pets nor do they want to redo any damage or clean up after others. Please be considerate of your neighbor. Remember the dog catchers etc., DO NOT HAVE ANY AIR AND FANS FOR PETS THAT ARE PICKED UP.
The Forest Cove Pool was home to 120 Fightin' Frogs for the 1998 swim season. We had 30 new families and 50 returning families. A new program (Tadpoles) was developed for those swimmers that weren't quite ready to be Frogs. There were 9 participants in this program. The Frogs ranked third in Division 5 for the year. Awards night was a night to be remembered. Several different swimmer and parent awards were awarded after ice cream was served. Four swimmers have been Fightin' Frogs for 13 years. The night ended with a video of the season. The 1999 board was elected: Susan Ecoff Kari Floyd, Kurt Hilarides, Rick and Nancy Lynch, Lynette Mockbee, Deb Prestifilippo, and Paula Safarik. The Frogs had a float in the 4th of July parade. It won the trophy in the neighborhood category. The parade and divisional trophy are on display in the pool clubhouse.
The 1998 swim team board would like to thank each and every parent that volunteered their time and our coaches (Michelle Wuyts and Michele Freidrich) for a great season. Our team is a team that this community can be proud of
Susan Ecoff presented a plaque with the team's picture to the FCPOA in appreciation for their support during the 1998 season. Susan also gave the Association 2 videotapes to watch and pass around. The Board wishes to thank Susan and the team for presenting them.
A 15,000 sq/ft air-conditioned facility complete with stage, sound system, chairs and tables, kitchen, handicap accessable bathrooms, and out-door picnic and play ground area.

The Positive Interaction Program "PIP" sponsored by the HPD meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Church of Christ on Woodland Hills in Kingwood at 7:30 PM. All residents are encouraged to attend these meetings.

There has been an increase in burglary; theft, and criminal mischief; in the Kingwood Area: Forest Cove has minimal criminal activity LETS KEEP IT THAT WAY.
Forest cove RESIDENTS ARE REMINDED THAT A CALL TO 222-3131 WILL DISPATCH AN OFFICER FROM THE KINGWOOD SUBSTATION. When calling this numher inform them of your address, nearest intersecting street, and additionally Key Map Location p336 and any other pertinent information. The dispatchers handling these calls are not HPD officers, but are civilians and generally do a good job with some exceptions. Poor performance by dispatchers should be reported.
The Kingwood Substation phone number is 359-6761 Calls to this number should be directed to the Shift Sergeant or Lieutenant in charge. These calls should address on-going problem areas such as speeding, reckless driving, loud parties. or any other nuisance or obnoxious activity Residents who are planning an extended absence from their home should call and have an alert slip made out.
The local weather forecasted storm warnings for the July 4th weekend; but the Forest Cove residents knew it wouldn't rain on their parade! Our Grand Marshals were LaVerne and Sam Caldwell, residents of Forest Cove since 1962.

Judges: Tom Lawrence, Don Jackson and Lynn Bradshaw Hull. HISD board members: Dr. Al Moore, Aaron Clevenson and Bill Bivin, Councilman Rob Todd, Congressman Kevin Brady and Representative Joe Crabb. The Barbecue was enjoyed by all as well as the games; horseshoes, swimming, the dunking booth etc. Last but not least, all those who helped with the decorating, set up, and taking down demonstrated our Theme "Stand up and be counted".
