- Message from the President
- Thank you to the many neighbors attending our monthly meetings. Several
issues were addressed and your input was appreciated. This is what makes
a com munity function. The 1St issue was the use of the Baptist Church
property on Hamblen Road. In our deed
restrictions it states the property has to be Church related or residential.
As a Board we must maintain and uphold our deed restrictions.
The 2nd issue was a citation we received from the City of Houston and we
must either replace or repair the existing fence on Burning Tree.We have
been receiving bids for either wood or chain link, which ever would be
functional and cost effective.
-
- The 3rd issue: The residents of Hamblen Road Estates want a gate in
the Burning Tree fence for access in or out of their homes when Hamblen
is closed due to flooding. A representative from Hamblen Road Estates will
be meeting with FCPOA Board to discuss and hopefully arrive at an amicable
agreement.
-
- 4th issue: Repairs of the Community Center following the last flood.
Bids and recommendations are being received.
-
- The last issue is the repair of "pot holes" and asphalt in
front of the Community Center and swimming pool.
-
- At our March meeting, hopefully Mr. Bravenec, (COH sidewalk program)
will address our meeting, please come and listen to what he has to say.
We should also have answers to the 3 issues above, better to hear them
first hand than over the fence!
Plans are being formulated for the annual July 4th festivities. Anyone
with ideas to help get the ball rolling, volunteer some time to decorate
etc., call Vicki at (281) 358-2210. July 4th is on Sunday this year. (NACOGDOCHES)
Anyone interested in an Easter Egg Hunt? It has been several years since
we have had one, please call Vicki or any board member with your thoughts.

- There has been an increase in burglary, theft, and criminal mischief,
in the Kingwood Area, Forest Cove has escaped this trend. There has been
an overall increase in activity in the Kingwood area, but Forest Cove had
no crime reports to the HPD for December. All residents are urged to REPORT
all incidents, it's the only way the HPD can address a problem. Residents
are urged not to leave valuables in full view in cars even though locked,
a number of cars have been broken into and items such as wallets and purses
stolen.
-
- Forest Cove RESIDENTS ARE REMINDED THAT A CALL TO 713- 222-3131

handling these calls are not HPD officers, but are civilians and generally
do a good job with some exceptions. Poor performance by dispatchers should
be reported! The Kingwood Substation phone number is 281-359-6761.
Calls to this number should be directed to the Shift Sergeant or Lieutenant
in charge. These calls should address such on-going problem areas as speeding,
reckless driving, loud parties, or any other nuisance or obnoxious activity.
Residents who are planning an extended absence from their home should call
and have an alert slip made out.
