Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Forest Cove Property Owner's Association will be held on Wednesday, May 19,1999, at 7:30PM at the Forest Cove Community Building, 1025 Marina Drive. The purpose of this meeting is to elect three members of the Board of Directors to fill the vacancies of the three Directors whose terms expire on May 19,1999.

As of this date, three property owners have expressed their desire to serve on the Board. They are: Marian Burrows, Ben Neiman, and Carl Quebedeaux.

At the monthly meeting of the Board on April 22,1999, the Board voted to follow the same procedure in the selection of new Board Directors as last year, which is as follows: The Board, as a whole would be the Nominating Committee, and by this notice and an announcement in the Forest Cove Property Owner's Newsletter, encourage all eligible property owners who have an interest in becoming a member of the Board to submit their name and qualification for inclusion on the ballot. At a Special Meeting on April 22, the Board decided on an Election Committee, and set forth the following guidelines to be followed in this election.
1. Candidates must own property and reside in Forest Cove. To be eligible to vote, maintenance and management fees must not be delinquent.
2. Any interested person must make his/her desire known by written statement to the address below or contact any Board member by May 7, 1999.
3. Interested individuals should submit a brief resume of their education and/or experience and any other information that may be helpful to the voters in making a selection. They should state the length of time they have resided in Forest Cove and also their ability to attend the monthly meetings of the Board. Three nominations from the floor will be accepted. These candidates will orally inform the property owners present of their qualifications, education and/or experience. Anyone wishing to vote for floor nominees will do so by writing in that candidate's name on the ballot.
4. There will be only one vote per household. Absentee voting will beheld on Saturday May 15, 1999 at the Community Building, 1075 Marina Drive from 10:00 to I PM.

Fightin Frogs

The plans for the 1999 swim season have been finalized and it is time to get wet. The youngest Fightin' Frogs made a big splash in the Frog pond on April 26. The water was cold but the energy levels were high. Practice for the entire team started May 2. It isn't too late to be part of the team. Kids of all ages are encouraged and welcome to join the team. Being a Fightin' Frog is a good way to become a strong swimmer, have fun, and be a part of the only community team! For information, call Susan Ecoff at 281-359- 0549.

see the Frog page for more info.

Message from the President...

This is my last message as your president although I have one remaining year on the Board, and it has been my pleasure to serve the last 2 years. My main goal has been to improve and make Forest Cove a safer place for our children and Senior Citizens.

We have been working on the Deed restrictions for the past 2 1/2 years and are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

We have asked residents not to install anymore water wells in the community until after the finalization of the Restrictions. Everyone is encouraged to vote on the restrictions once they are finalized. Watch for the voting day, it will be publicized!

My phone is a fingertip away, please call me if you have any questions or complaints, remember everyone has a right to their opinion.

Forest Cove Garden Club

Change of plans! The Annual Installation Luncheon will be held at the home of Faye Norman, 1210 Castle Hill May 13th at 11:30 a/m. Irene Pack will pass the Gavel to LaRue Skarbovig after which Irene can "kick-off" her shoes and relax, LaRue be ready to don your "waltz shoes" or "roller blades". This has been a very busy productive year for the Garden Club and there is only one scheduled outing planned. May 27th, a trip to the Debra Duncan Show, please call Rosie Hartley for time and car pooling, (281-358- 6051).
