The Forest Cove Fightin' Frogs had their back to school party on August Sth~ Food and fellowship was enjoyed by all that attended. The 2000 swim team board will assume their responsibilities on October 1, 1999. The swim team board will meet a few times between now and April. There are details that need to be taken care of during the off-season. We would like to form a few committees (budget, officials, improvements, etc.) to deal with some of the off-season needs. Any swim team parent can attend any of the board meetings or be on any of the committees. If you are interested in helping during the off-season or want to attend any board meetings, contact Susan Ecoff.

The new personal care home in Forest Cove is up and running. Spring Home Care provides total care for a small group of elderly residents. The goal of Spring Home Care is to provide the highest quality personal care home in our community in order to ensure the well being of the elderly and disabled. It is owned and operated by Penny Spring, a Registered Nurse with 14 years of hands on experience in the medical care of the elderly and infirm. Additional care is provided by highly qualified home health aides and certified nurse assistants. The staff desire to see the residents fulfill their potential in a caring homelike environment. Each individual receives the personal attention, love, and care needed to give them the sense of being home. The home is a large one-story where residents enjoy shared dining and "family" rooms. It has been beautifully innovated and is bright, open, and cheerful. They provide home cooked meals and a variety of activities including volunteer visits three times a week by seniors from the Kingwood Christian Academy, also located in Forest Cove. Currently, Spring Home Care would like to include two more residents into their family. If anyone would like more information or would like to tour the home, please call 281-359-0918.

Fellow residents of Forest Cove: summer is finally winding down for 1999, and I hope that you have had an enjoyable summer. It has been a very hot summer, but that is part of living in Texas.
As we enter the fall season, activity in Forest Cove will be increasing. The first activity will be the reconstruction of the interior of the Community Building. During the flood of November 1998, river water entered the Community building and caused damage to the wooden walls and kitchen cabinets. With help from flood insurance money, the kitchen will be reconstructed, and the walls will be rebuilt with a water-resistant paneling. When the construction is finished in Mid-October, Forest Cove will again have a first-class meeting and entertainment facility. The only thing that we can not promise is that the river will not flood again, but recovery at the Community Building should be much quicker.
The board and the residents committee will resume activity on the new
consolidated deed restrictions. The Texas Legislature passed new laws (
S13
434) ...effecting all property owner associations. We need to determine
how these laws will impact the residents and the Property Owners Association.
There will be other modifications to the proposed restrictions, which will
balance the concerns of the individual owners with the needs of the community.
Regards, Jerry Safarik
According to the President's Wife they will be having a "Garage Sale" in the fall. I do not know when, where; but will get the date when their Board decides. And I have heard women can't make a decision!!!!!
Charlie, a longtime resident (31 years) of Forest Cove, he was a founding
member of the 'Cove
Choraliers' and took an active part in building the Community Center, passed
away on Friday Aug. 21 at the age of 67
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Due to the building renovations which will begin Sept, 1st, we will all be playing it by ear as to where the meetings will be held. As of now we will be having meetings in the old firehouse on Mustang, which will require some help cleaning out stored, oh what is the proper word for how to classify "cha-cha's"? Tables chairs etc, will need to be moved from the present building to the firehouse! Does this sound like a volunteer group for moving or what?
