Practice Schedule

Rookie Camp 2008:

April 28	All participants come ready to swim at 4:45 pm (coaches will access each swimmer and place in group for rest of rookie camp)
April 29 - May 2	Group I -4:30 pm - 5:15 pm Group II - 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm

After School Practice

Starting April May 5, 2008

Tadpoles	3:45 - 4:15 pm
6 year olds and younger	4:15 - 4:45 pm
7 - 10 year olds	4:45 - 5:30 pm
11 - 12 year olds	5:30 - 6:15 pm
13 - 18 year olds	6:15 - 7:30 pm

The coaches will access what practice is best for each team swimmer during the first few weeks of practice. Some swimmers may be asked to swim in an age group practice that is different than their age if the coaches feel it is in the best interest of that swimmer. In order to keep the number in each practice group workable, the age grouping may change once the season begins.

Morning Practice

Starting June 4, 2008

13 - 18 year olds	7:00 - 8:15 a.m.
11 - 12 year olds	8:15 - 9:15 a.m.
9 - 10 year olds	9:15 - 10:00 a.m.
7 - 8 year olds	10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
6 year olds & younger	10:45 - 11:15 a.m.

Practice times are the times when the swimmer should be ready to enter the water.

BABY POOL IS NOT TO BE USED DURING ANY PRACTICE TIME.

Meets

Day of the Meet

Swim meets are held on Saturdays and begin at 8:30 am. Swimmer warm-ups begin at 7:00 am for home meets and 7:30 am for away meets. Be certain your child CHECKS IN on the team lineup found in the team area. Otherwise, he/she will be scratched (eliminated) from participating in the meet.. Swimmers need to be checked in by 8:00 am. If you are running late to a meet, please call Meredith Crowe at 281-814-5476. Also, make sure your child knows what events he/she is swimming. Although swimming is an individual sport, the TEAM depends on the full participation of each member. Always check with a coach before your child leaves a meet that is still in progress, to be sure all of his/her events are finished.

It is helpful (for the younger swimmers) if you write your swimmers event numbers on the back of their hand.
Swimmers should go promptly to the ready bench area when their event number has been called by the announcer.
Parent’s need to leave the ready bench area after taking their swimmer to the ready bench team mom or dad.
The ready bench area should have the event numbers posted that have been called.
We have Ready Bench Moms for the age groups younger than 10. These moms help bring the swimmers to the ready bench when the swimmers event number has been called. If you are not staying in the team area, please tell your Ready Bench Mom where you are located for the day so she can find you if you miss the ready bench call.
Unless you are a Timer, Scribe, Official, or Ready Bench Mom, please stay off of starting and finishing deck areas and the ready bench area.
If you leave the meet early, let the coaches and Meredith Crowe know.
If you plan to purchase concessions, please bring small bills to the meet.
Before leaving the team area, be sure team area is picked up and clean of trash. The team area is a reflection of our team.

Rain Policy

On rainy days, there may be a change in practice. If there is thunder and/or lightning, call the pool at 281-358-6832 before assuming there is no practice. If it is only raining, practice will be held. The coaches will be at the pool every practice day regardless of weather. Please remember the coaches are working with the swimmers on regular practice days and are not near the phone for routine questions to be answered.

It is rare that a meet will be canceled due to bad weather. It may be delayed, postponed or even re-scheduled. Swimming will stop under hazardous conditions.

WEEKLY

Meet results are ordinarily posted on Monday and swimmers can pick up ribbons from Saturday’s meet.
Frog Talk ordinarily issued on Tuesday.
Line-up will be posted by Friday
