FCPOA:

It would be great if we could get a bike bridge and/or culvert connecting
the east end of Masters Way with Kingwood Place Village (the subdivision
behind Ninfa's).

Kids who ride their bikes to school have to wade through the Harris
County Flood Control ditch to connect with the bike trails to get to
Foster Elem. or Kingwood Middle.

Years ago I asked Precinct 4 about this. The problem, they said, was
getting an easement over the flood control right of way.

It would make biking safer and more fun for our kids.

Thanks,

Martha,

That is an execellent idea. There is already a (relatively new <10 yrs old) walking / bike bridge going from Trailwood across the BIG drainage ditch to Kingwood Place. So the easement issue is not a good excuse. We hdiscussed this last month, and I intended to add that to the SNC CIP requests, but somehow it was overlooked. I will bring it up at the meeting on Monday. Thanks for the input.

Subject: dogs unleashed

Dear Editor,

My husband and I live on Burning Tree Rd., on the second fairway. We, like so many people both living here and simply playing the golf course, have enjoyed the doings of the large Muscovy duck (we called him Sam) that has lived on the lake separating the second and eight holes. Every day, at least once and sometimes up to three times, he would waddle across the fairway and come over to say hi and wait for me to feed him. A genuinely personable and sweet old duck.

I am sure some people have been wondering why he hasn't been around. Well, Sam is dead. He was attacked and killed. We believe it was a dog. We have buried him and we miss him.

Dogs have been running free in increasing numbers on the golf course and through the neighborhoods. Some are large and have even been known to chase the duck before (such as the Rottweiler who lives/lived down the street from us). One of these dogs has killed that duck. And no one ever seems to care about residents letting their dogs out. A dog that will hurt a duck will hurt a child.

Anyway, I thought I'd tell the community what became of the duck and my concerns at dogs running wild around here.
