Forest Cove is located amidst the towering pines, oaks, and sweet magnolias of Harris and Montgomery Counties, Texas, fifteen miles northeast of downtown Houston, and ten minutes from Bush (Houston) Intercontinental Airport. This is a deed-restricted subdivision on the north side of the San Jacinto River, just east of Highway 59. Forest Cove is across the river from Humble, Texas, and south and west of Kingwood, Texas.
Forest Cove is a family oriented community with comfortable homes on large lots (up to two acres), and many golf course lots. Horses are stabled at some of the larger residences. The subdivision has a community center and swimming pool, a marina on the cove, an NWAL swim team (the Fightin' Frogs), a garden club, and is adjacent to baseball fields, a public golf course, and many other activities. It is in the highly rated Humble Independent School District. Forest Cove has an active Property Owners Association (FCPOA) that; enforces deed restrictions, runs the local community center and swimming pool, has a very effective neighborhood crime watch program, and acts as a advocate for the community to the City of Houston. FCPOA also sponsors the annual Independence Day parade and picnic, which is always enjoyed by the community.
The City of Houston forcibly annexed Forest Cove in December of 1996, and currently enforces all city ordinances in Forest Cove. The City provides police, fire, and EMS services, as well as water, sewer, and garbage pickup. Forest Cove is located in Houston City Council District E, which is currently represented by City Council Member Mike Sullivan .Forest Cove is in the State of Texas House of Representatives District 127 which is represented by State Representative Joe Crabb, and State Senate District 4 which has State Senator Tommy Williams.
